hooray for earth 'sails' video, 'no love' download

Share

Brooklyn electropop act Hooray For Earth released debut full length True Loves last month. It's a bright, percussion heavy album that fits in nicely to a summer listening rotation.

Today a video for "Sails" was released, which features a very disorienting Groundhog Day premise. Watch as the heroine seems caught in a loop, and make sure you hang in for the hook at 1:21:

If you dig that, download "No Love" via pitchfork and/or stream the whole album in the widget below (sorry about the autoplay):

If you're looking for a new favorite band, or a soundtrack album for summer, you might want to check out Brooklyn electropop act Hooray For Earth.

Debut album True Loves is out next week on June 7, but thanks to Spin you can stream the entire album now.

Noel Heroux, the mastermind behind Hooray For Earth, writes great pop hooks with grand choruses, vintage synths and huge drum sounds. There's a bit of a modern chillwave aesthetic mixed with the 80's synthpop of Depeche Mode or OMD.

Check out "Sails," "Same" and "Hotel" in particular. Good stuff:

And in case you missed it, here's the fantastical romantic video for title track "True Loves":

Brooklyn electropop act and onetime Twin Shadow collaborator Hooray For Earth is set to release debut album True Loves June 7.

This week, a video for the title track was posted, featuring plenty of middle earth mysticism. "True Loves" gives you a pretty good idea of Hooray For Earth's percussion heavy synthpop:

"True Loves" is available as a single on iTunes with a half dozen remixes thrown in. Here's the Cereal Spiller Remix, which gives it a more traditional dance floor thump:

The Drums have teamed up with fellow Brooklynite Twin Shadow for a remix of "Me And The Moon" from their self-titled debut.

Unlike the original mix, which had a more insistent synth beat, the Twin Shadow version has the electronic flourishes and live drum sounds found on his debut, Forget.

Compare that to the official video for "Me And The Moon" via Stereogum:

And while we're on the subject of Twin Shadow, copies of Forget purchased from the Rough Trade online store ship with a 7-song bonus disc.

Amongst the remixes and unreleased tracks is this collaboration with Hooray For Earth entitled "A Place We Like":
