jonsi's uncomfortable in-store

If you haven't given Jonsi's Go a listen, it takes the pop progression of Sigor Ros' Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust and takes it to the next level.

Currently on tour in the US, Jonsi had some in-store acoustic gigs scheduled that were hastily cancelled right after the first one.

As reported by Pitchfork, Jonsi's management talked him into the idea, and his reluctance turned to terror in the cramped quarters of Origami Records in Los Angeles.

In a statement, his management said "standing there nose-to-nose with fans in the cold light of day... he had the sudden and undeniable realisation that this is not the environment in which he flourishes. Arguably it was the most uncomfortable experience of his ten years in the public eye."

It's too bad, because as this video of "Go Do" from the Origami in-store shows, Jonsi was being way too hard on himself:

Contrast the intimacy of that performance to the energy and optimism of the studio version:

Hipsters beware... Jonsi needs his personal space.
