arctic monkeys 'suck it and see' on jools holland

Today the Arctic Monkeys released their fourth album, Suck It And See. A bit stripped down with a 70's sound, it's a further evolution for the one-time teen phenoms.

Last month, the Monkeys previewed the follow up to Humbug on Later.. With Jools Holland. Catch the three-song set of "Library Pictures," "Reckless Serenade" and "The Hellcat Spangled Shalala" here:

And if you to be fully brought up to speed, check out the previously released videos for "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" and "Brick By Brick":

Still too early to tell, but Suck It And See might slide in behind Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I Am Not in my Arctic Monkeys pecking order. Thoughts?

June 6th, the Arctic Monkeys will release their fourth album, flippantly titled Suck It And See. The latest glimpse at the purportedly poppier follow up to Humbug is "Reckless Serenade."

It's definitely got some jangle, and it's a return to Alex Turner's casual, narrative style:

And if you need to get caught up, here are the previously released videos for "Don't Sit Down 'Cause I've Moved Your Chair" and "Brick By Brick":

The fourth album from Sheffield scoundrels Arctic Monkeys is still unannounced, but a new video was posted by the band today.

"Brick By Brick" features drummer Matt Helders on lead vocal, according to antiquiet. It continues the journey into early 70's AOR begun with Humbug, and features a clip with an appropriately retro feel:

Like the break at 1:43. Overall, a suitable enough teaser. We'll see if this actually ends up on the album, reportedly titled Jack Turner, The Only Turner Worthy Of The Name and being recorded with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco.

UPDATE:

The album is in fact called Suck It And See. "Brick By Brick" does make the cut as you can see from the track list below. Look for a June 6 release date.
