of the late Gil Scott-Heron's I'm New Here
.Today, Glasgow label Numbers releases his first proper solo single, "Far Nearer." The steel drum driven track has a subdued summertime feel and the familiar drum machine and low end sounds of The xx:
The b-side, "Beat For," is much darker with a nod to drum & bass:
Meanwhile, The xx are said to be working on the follow up to their self-titled debut
for a late 2011 release.
